Does digital marketing work?

As web users get savvier and used to the marketing methods people are using, those who are engaged in digital marketing need to be more creative. It used to be that pop up ads worked well but everyone has installed pop up blockers now. People pay more attention and notice the ads more and are less likely to click on them so for that reason, using other digital methods is important. Marketing is still effective on platforms like Twitter and Facebook but it's how you go about it. For some, they are willing to click on an ad but want you to be up front that it is an ad. But it needs to be an ad for something they are interested in. If they are into crafts but not model cars, an ad for a model car is likely going to frustrate them and they may block that ad source in the future. But if it is a more generic ad for a craft store that has yarn, ribbons and model cars, it may appeal to them and they will click on it to check the store out. Appealing to a wide demographic in a narrow field is important. Many people still use affiliate links within the text on a website. Again, many consumers are aware of this and will not click those links, partly as they are afraid of getting a virus. But if you can put a link in the sidebar, with a picture of the product, they are much more likely to click. Depending on the company you are promoting, they may create the graphic you need or you will have to add in the graphic and link yourself. If this is the case, make sure to read up on the rules of proper graphic use from that supplier. As with anything, depending on the product you are trying to sell will determine what type of digital marketing is going to work. Emails and newsletters are still productive but they can have a high unopened rate but you are emailing an audience that was interested, at least at one point. Ads can work but they will be shown to a lot of people with no reaction. Do your research.
