The Ljubljana Slovenia Aiport

Slovenia is one of the countries that formed in the wake of the fall of the Soviet Union. Many Americans probably could not find it on a map, but that is not surprising. A good portion of Americans could not find their own state on a map if pressed. Now, if someone wants to fly into Slovenia, perhaps for a business conference or to visit the sites of Eastern Europe, they need to know where they might be going. The country is bordered by the Mediterranean, Italy, and Croatia. It is near Austria and Hungary as well. Someone may or may not know that the capital city of the nation is Ljubljana.

Ljubljana airport sits at 338 meters above sea level, which is a comfortable elevation for most people.  The city's climate is similar to that of other countries in the region. It enjoys milder winters than other countries because of its proximity to the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors arriving in the summertime have to worry about high humidity and mosquitoes, but that is not different than what a person would have to contend with in many other parts of the world.

The airport itself has thirteen runways and is capable of handling international flights. Like many airports, visitors can expect amenities such as bars, duty-free shops, restaurants, and many other things that make the burden of travel easier.  The traveler's luggage, if he is lucky, may have arrived with him on the trip. Airlines have made many improvements in this area, but they are still known for losing luggage at an exponential rate. Scientists have yet to solve this mystery, but many physicists suspect the answers lies buried deep within principles of quantum mechanics that have yet to be discovered.

Someone traveling to this Eastern European country may or may not end up in the capital city. If he plans to connect to smaller airport, he may get on a regional carrier when he lands in Ljubljana. He can also plan his trip to visit several other countries. He just needs to make sure his passport is up to date before he lands in the Slovenia airport.
